Moore Musings on Marriage & Relationships

About The Author

Welcome To Moore Marriage Musings

A blog about the good, the bad, and the great of Marriage, Faith & Relationships.

Hi! I am Amber Moore from Moore Marriage Musings (who doesn’t love a good pun) in little old New Zealand.

This blog first started when after a whirlwind romance (4 months from the first date to the proposal!), an epic day-long proposal, a tumultuous six-month engagement, and a beautiful sixteen-hour wedding day, my husband and I paused to find ourselves MARRIED – for better or worse.

The Epic Proposal

Mike was in his mid-30s and, until we met, had been enjoying a bachelor-type existence of endless hours of sport, friends, and free time. While I was in my early 30s, 7 years out of a broken marriage, hours of intentional healing under my belt, and desperate to begin my second chance at married life. We had sought the approval of close relationships and done our pre-marriage counseling. We knew marriage wasn’t easy, but in hindsight, we were ill-prepared for the challenges our early years together would throw at us. Not to mention the ongoing struggle and refinement required to get closer to truly becoming one.

The Wedding Day

My husband and I both grew up in Christian homes.  Through our own journeys, we have found a personal and living relationship with Jesus. Because of this, and our belief in marriage, we are firmly committed to following through with the words we spoke on our wedding day – “until death do us part.” We are learning though how much work a strong, happy, and loving marriage really takes.

I understand personally the immense pain a broken marriage causes, and together we have seen the impact of this on our own marriage. We have also watched numerous couples start their relationships deeply in love, but only a few years later they have either chosen to go their separate ways or are living in a lackluster marriage where the excitement and fun of the dating days are a distant memory. This deeply breaks our hearts!

The Moore’s Today

A good relationship takes a lot of hard work, in every season of life.  My hope is to encourage couples by sharing our experiences and the things we are learning, to not just have a functioning marriage, but to strive and pursue an awesome one. I am a trained Clifton Strengths Coach and have a passion for understanding myself and others better. Reading is one of my relaxing hobbies and I love to spend too much of my pocket money on Marriage, Family, and Relationship books – check out some of my favorites HERE.

I would love as many people as possible to be inspired in their marriage journey, so please share my blog posts with your friends.  Also, make sure you sign up to like us on Facebook or Instagram, so you don’t miss out on any future posts.

Thanks again for stopping by.
